Who we are
mytaxcredits.ie is provided by Clout Capital Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 804790), whose registered office is at 12 St Peter's Terrace, Glenageary, Dublin, A96 N6F2 ("we"). Contact: hello@mytaxcredits.ie.
Our role
For the records your company connects or uploads, your company is the controller and we process personal data on its behalf under our data processing agreement. For our own account, billing and website data, we are the controller. Your company's tax adviser is an independent controller under its own engagement with your company.
What we process
- Account data: names, work email addresses, roles.
- Evidence from connected tools and uploads: commit messages and changed file names (never source code), tickets and comments, Confluence pages, selected or uploaded documents, messages in public Slack channels your company chooses (never direct messages or private channels), AI assistant conversations your company uploads (prompts and replies only, with secrets removed and the file deleted), and monthly R&D notes staff choose to write, with their authors and dates.
- Finance data: ledger lines, and payroll figures for staff whose time is claimed (pay is visible only to owners, finance users and your adviser).
- Activity-based time suggestions derived from evidence authorship, which your finance lead reviews. Each person's time percentages are visible only to owners, finance users, your adviser and that person.
Website enquiries and the eligibility check
If you send us an enquiry or your eligibility check answers, we are the controller. We keep your company name, work email, your name if you give it, and your answers. We use them only to reply to you and to judge whether we can help, on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to your request. We delete them after 2 years. The check runs in your browser; nothing is sent to us unless you choose to send it.
Why
To prepare R&D tax credit claim files and figures for review by your company and its tax adviser, as instructed by your company. While a claim is being prepared, your company relies on its legitimate interest in an accurate claim. Once the claim is filed, the records are kept to meet its legal obligation to keep tax records. Consent is not relied on. A data protection impact assessment covers the use of activity data for time allocation.
AI
We use AI to suggest projects, classifications and draft text from your linked evidence. Suggestions are reviewed by people; nothing is approved or filed automatically. Your data is not used to train AI models.
Where
Data is hosted in the EU. See our sub-processors.
How long
While your company's subscription is active, claim records are kept for 6 years after the end of the accounting period they relate to (section 886 TCA 1997), or longer under a legal hold or while credits are carried forward, then deleted. When the subscription ends, we delete your company's data after 30 days. If your company asks us to delete its data, we delete it 30 days after the request, unless a legal hold applies. Owners can download a full export at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing, by contacting hello@mytaxcredits.ie or your company administrator. You can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
